Carlos Idelfonzo
One of my close friends, Carlos Idelfonzo.
I've known him since Sophomore year in high school if I may recall correctly. We never expected to become such good friends, but life is full of surprises. As the years past, the more we started to become acquainted, we found that we'd play such important roles within one another's lives. Thank you for all those days of listening to me ramble about my troubles. Thank you for all those fun nights out doing juvenile things. Thank you for everything.
I love you.
P.S. - Sorry, we haven't had our one on one time, but I dedicate this post to you, bro.
December 15, 2011 "Hey, dude, Jenni, you gotta' stay very still or else it won't work, man." "What?! But, that's impossible!"
I got off work, raced to Jenni's house and by some miracle I had my camera that day.
I haven't seen her for over a year I believe. She got a transfer from Japan to San Diego and she came back to visit.
I'm not some philosophical genius, but I sure as heck know that most individuals sure spend a ton of time alone. Time thinking about the people around them and who they're involved with. The people they love, to the people they outright loathe, but that's not necessarily the point. It's more so that I'm sure I'm not the only one who spends my leisure time feeling sad and feeling happy. Thinking of all that I wish to do with my life. All that I may never do, but will try anyway. Using that time to accomplish all these tasks given to us or keeping one's priority in check. Or not doing a single thing at all, but here's what I'm saying. I appreciate all that time to myself. Whether I do feel lonely or not, that's not the big picture. The big picture is how anytime these occasions take place, it's a time of growth. A time of reflection and review.
Well here's a small series of all the times I let myself be consumed by my own personal solitude. Circa Feb. 2012 to May 2012 at the latest.
Today was a long, long day.
Morning shoot with Danny. Shot the summer line for Ephemeral Youth Clothing. Met some new people. Had some ice cream. Some down time, then Men in Black II with some peeps. Went by Evelyn to pick up some things and had some KPOP shenanigans.
Kyle the Jumping Child
Some flash fun, fish eye fun, and most of all Kyle learns to jump!
Self I want to gush about my intensity for photography, but I'd sound like a spazzing maniac. But here's to trying. I could never completely explain the passion running through my veins when I'm walking through this life. My eyes are unique just like everyone else's out there. We all see certain things and perceive the world around us in ways others' may never know. My purpose, mymotivation for what I do is simply my urge of trying to record my exact thoughts and vision. Of life itself. My exact view from my very own view finder. I'm here as another human, simply trying to figure a way to communicate exactly what lies within myself. For the world, for those who choose to take their time and take a gander at how I perceive this world. So thank you for spending a few seconds to minutes of your day. I appreciate all that take the time.
the Avenger's Midnight Premiere!
I remember it vaguely, but I literally spent the entire day with Danny and Grae. Campus, mall, Grae's haus and I had my first taste of Mrs. Grimes' delicious, Strawberry Tacos! There were a few who joined in, here and there. Brenda hung with us for a while in the evening. We discovered those yummiful Neuro drinks at Jensen's and then the premiere. Which was ah-mazing!
LOST BOYS: In the Making
My good friend, Danny Owens, first started his company, Ephemeral Youth Clothing, back in April of this year. His first line, LOST BOYS, when it was first in production. I had the privilege of being apart of his wondrous dream. Helping Mr. Owens with some handmade screen printing. Some fun stuff, man! Much, much blood, sweat, & tears goes into his production.
Coachella Music Festival: What They Wore, Behind the Scenes
Thank you Luisa for letting me tag along to see how Adam Moore did his photo thing for the Desert Sun. Great experience and great company.

Dani & the Scarlet Fevers' Band Practice
Their FANPAGE.
I was quite excited when Arslane invited me to sit in on their band practice. Snapped a few shots while I was there.
Brenda Abreu, my closest friend despite the little time we have known each other. It is only obvious that I chose to dedicate this entire series to her. Circa late 2011 and early 2012.
Treated Carlos to Sam's Sushi for his hard work on graduating high school. Roamed around LQ, Bermuda Dunes, and Indio for their thrift shops afterwards. PORTFOLIO // BLOGSPOT //FLICKR// FACEBOOK
Visited Carlos before his prom. Met up with Brenda and Brooke at Hue Fest. It was a bust. Bolted, then Cody called up Tom and we headed to a gay club near LA. Club was a bust as well, so we met up with Andrew. Went to a small Mexican restaurant where we met some chill ass strangers. Mind you, this was all around 11PM to 2AM.
Went on a small road trip to Arcadia with Amanda, Evelyn, Melinda, and Sly. Had some Korean BBQ after visiting a mall. PORTFOLIO // TUMBLR // FLICKR // FACEBOOK
Fuzzy memory, but after a promo shoot for an acquaintance of mine, I met up with Grae, Danny, Savannah, and Olivia at Pat & Oscar's for some afternoon grub. After classes, I had a chill evening with Danny and Grae. Stopped by McD's for coffee and some deep talks at Target. Good times, feels like it was just yesterday. Danny and Grae are the best for getting me a free one day pass to Coachella. Had my mother's Sony point and shoot with me. Saw the Shins, Bon Iver, and the last five minutes of Miike Snow. Stood for for about three hours being squished by smelly dunkards.
Jan. 23, 2012
Spent Chinese New Year with the family. Went to the biggest Buddhist temple in LA (if I can recall correctly). It was cold, windy, and rainy. PORTFOLIO // TUMBLR // FLICKR // FACEBOOK
